About the Agency

Local coverage, built around your operation

Based in Linden, California, in the heart of San Joaquin County, Copello Crop Insurance Agency, Inc. works directly with growers to put together coverage that fits their crops, their acreage, and their risk — not a one-size-fits-all policy.

Owner Max Copello works with growers throughout the Central Valley on the walnuts, cherries, grapes, and row crops that define this region, walking through options in plain language and handling the paperwork that comes with sales closing dates, acreage reporting, and claims.

Long before he was an agent, Max was a farmer — growing cherries, walnuts, almonds, and wine grapes and carrying crop insurance himself. That experience on the other side of the policy shaped what he brings to this work: he learned firsthand what growers actually want and need from their coverage, and now he gets to provide it every day.

Max Copello

Owner & Agent

Max is a third-generation farmer who spent 15 years growing cherries, wine grapes, almonds, walnuts, and apples before leading the crop insurance division at a national agency for five years. In 2025 he founded Copello Crop Insurance Agency to bring that same hands-on understanding of risk directly to growers. He's licensed to sell and service crop insurance in California and Nevada.

Coverage & Services

Programs we help growers navigate

Multi-Peril Crop Insurance

Yield & Revenue Protection

Federally subsidized coverage protecting against yield and revenue loss from a wide range of natural causes — drought, excess moisture, hail, wind, and more.

Crop-Hail Insurance

Hail Damage Coverage

Private supplemental coverage specifically for hail damage, often added on top of MPCI for extra protection during the growing season.

Pasture, Rangeland & Forage

Rainfall-Index Coverage

Rainfall-index coverage designed for growers of hay, pasture, and forage acreage.

Whole-Farm Revenue Protection

Whole-Operation Coverage

A single policy covering revenue across the entire farm operation — well suited to diversified or specialty crop growers.

Named Peril Coverage

Single-Risk Protection

Coverage tailored to a specific risk relevant to your operation, where a named-peril policy fits better than broader programs.

Supplemental Coverage Option

SCO: Deductible Coverage

County-based add-on that covers part of your MPCI deductible, now with an 80% premium subsidy. How it works →

Enhanced Coverage Option

ECO: Coverage up to 95%

Area coverage above SCO, up to 90% or 95% of expected county yield or revenue. Now available for almonds, walnuts and grapes. How it works →
